I’ve been swept up in a really exciting project as of late. It’s a long story, but you can read more about the genesis of it here: http://time.com/3736511/dancing-man-body-shaming/
Basically, my friends launched a Twitter campaign to find a man who had been body-shamed online. We never thought we would find him, or that anyone would even care. We had a crazy idea to bring him to LA for a dance party to show him that we accept people of all shapes and sizes. Then the campaign went viral, we actually found him, and the rest is history. It looks like “Dancing Man” aka Sean will be flying into the States sometime next month for our big shindig. Beyond the party, and even just our small story, there is a much bigger issue of cyberbullying that everyone is concerned about. So we have formed a group called Dance Free Movement, and our mission is to promote self-acceptance, kindness, and end cyberbullying and body shaming everywhere.
I am so excited to be creative and make a difference in the world. I am working on a music video for the song “Home To Me” by Hope Leigh, which will premiere very soon! Anyway, check out the website and follow Dance Free Movement on Twitter / Facebook / IG to stay updated on what we are up to.
